Chills (Events)

Create and join group hangouts in your area.

Chills are group hangout events that users can create and join. They can be anything — bar nights, beach trips, coffee meetups, gym sessions, or casual get-togethers. Chills make it easy to meet multiple people in a relaxed, real-world setting rather than just chatting one-on-one.

Go to the Chills tab and tap "Create a Chill." Fill in the details: title, description, date and time, location, and capacity. Choose whether it's public (visible to all nearby users) or private (invite-only). Set any requirements or rules, then publish it. As the host, you approve or decline join requests.

Browse available Chills in the Chills tab. Tap on one that interests you to see the full details. If it's a public Chill, tap "Request to Join" — the host will review and approve your request. If it's a private Chill, you'll need an invite from the host or another attendee.

The exact location of a Chill is only revealed to approved attendees. Users browsing Chills will see the general area (e.g., neighborhood or city) but not the specific address. This protects the host's privacy while still letting potential attendees know roughly where it is.

Public Chills are visible to all nearby Bromo users. Anyone can request to join, though the host still approves each request. Private Chills are invite-only — they don't appear in the public Chills feed. Only people who receive a direct invite can see the details and request to join.

Yes. Go to the Chill you created, tap the menu icon, and select "Cancel Chill." All approved attendees will be notified of the cancellation. We recommend giving as much notice as possible if plans change.

As the host, you set the maximum capacity when creating the Chill. Once the capacity is reached, no more users can request to join unless someone drops out or you increase the limit. There's no platform-imposed maximum, but we recommend keeping groups manageable.

As the host, you can remove any attendee from the Chill at any time. You can also report disruptive behavior through the app. Our moderation team takes Chill-related reports seriously, and violations can result in strikes or bans.
